2009 Stallion Season Auction
All 2010 foals of the seasons sold in the
2009 auction will be eligible for the 2012 Northern Plains
Futurity and 2013 Northern Plains Derby.

Northern Plains Stallion Stakes Auction
If you have any questions regarding the auction or Northern Plains Race, please do not hesitate to contact us. We would like to thank you for your support of the NDQHRA Stallion Service Auction.
1. The NDQHRA auctions the breeding season to the highest bidder (bidding will start at not less than $300).
2. All foals sired by the donated stallion are eligible for this stallion stakes. NOTE: All Quarter Horse foals conceived in auction year by said stallion, and foaled the following year become eligible to be paid into the 2-year old futurity according to the nomination and payment schedule below.
3. Terms of the breeding agreement are issued by the owner or manager of the farm where the stallion stands. NDQHRA has no involvement in the terms or conditions of the breeding agreement. NDQHRA merely provides the season for auction without any further liability.
4. NDQHRA urges bidders to contact stallion owners before bidding and to become familiar with the breeding contract, terms and expenses involved with the stallion services on which they bid. The winning bidder agrees to abide by the terms of the stallion owner's breeding contract
5. If the stallion owner offers a return breeding, it is limited to one year. Any substitute mares must be approved by stallion owners or farm.
6. If mare does not have a live foal from the first breeding season of a guaranteed live foal, and the stallion dies, is sold or is moved and the stallion owner does not opt to honor the return breeding, the mare owner may request in writing, a credit of the amount paid for the breeding to be applied to the next stallion season auction. The written request must be received in the NDQHRA office prior to January 1.
7. Once the stallion covers the mare and subsequently dies or becomes unfit for breeding, no refunds will be given. If the stallion dies or becomes unfit for breeding prior to covering the mare, the donee will receive credit at the following years sale. No cash refunds will be given.
8. A bonus of $500 will be paid to the stallion donor of the winning horse for the Futurity.
9. Daycare charges are between stallion owner and mare owners. All other guarantees not referred to above are between stallion owners and mare owners.
10. Bidding closes at the listed time Central Standard Time on the posted date of closing. The remaining time left to bid will be posted on the stallion information page and must be updated by refreshing the page. Bids received after the stated closing time will not be accepted. NDQHRA assumes no liability for any technical malfunction of the online bidding process.
The Northern Plains Stallion Auction Stakes Race will be run with an estimated purse of $30,000. The host track will be announced at a later date.
